Opus 27 is being relocated from Prairie Village, KS to Oxford, OH. The Sanctuary is measured and prepped for the delivery.
Accent lighting
The lighting is far from finished at Cathedral, but some accent lights have been added to highlight the case crowns.
Side Panels
Side panels were added today, to complete the organ case in the rear of the pedal division. The organ case now looks complete, particularly from the front and side view. Visible wind lines were also painted black to hide them from view.
Great
The great division is nearly complete and one word comes to mind: AMAZING!
Today, we are voicing/tuning the 4-rank mixture and the great trumpet, which sounds at 16, 8 and 4 foot pitches.
Of Pipes and Rectifiers
More pipes arrived today and the electrical switching of the organ is being kicked into shape.
Strings
The organ is getting strings this week! Existing pipework with its German nomenclature has been revoiced and sounds very full in the Cathedral church. Nothing beats a SCHWEBUNG! (except a GEIGENSCHWEBUNG)
Swell
The upper division (Schwellwerk) has about a third of its pipes installed. The 8, 4 and 2 foot flutes make a nice chorus. The 16 foot fagott (bassoon) is a full and charismatic stop!
Voicing con't
The great principals are getting a full workout today. The organ even looks nice with facade pipes missing.
Case lighting
The electricians have installed lighting and outlets inside the case. Much easier to see now!
End times are nearing
Lots of good things here! Console plays great principals, traversflote, zimbelstern and smatterings of others, flooring is 99% finished, there are some EMPTY pipe boxes! and more.
